Folk musicians and singers are invited to share their music in a free music circle Wednesday, April 7 from 7 to 9 PM at the Thurmont Regional Library.
All acoustic instruments are welcome. All genres of folk music are invited including Celtic, bluegrass, blues, gospel, traditional, and contemporary.
A music circle is an opportunity for musicians and singers to play and sing with each other. It gives them a chance to try out new material before going public. It also introduces them to a broad range of styles and genres.
Each artist in the circle will be given an opportunity to lead a song or tune. They may also request that someone else play a particular song or tune. The others are then invited to play or sing along. Copies of the songbook “Rise Up Singing” will be available. Those attending may want to bring a music stand.
This event is free and open to all acoustic musicians and singers.
