If you have an iPad, or are thinking of purchasing one, learn how
to optimize its use for business. In this hands-on class, we’ll
discuss the iPad2 (what it is and what it’s not), review the models
and options (3G and Wi-Fi, memory, accessories) and explore
the app store (how to open your account, access, and download
apps). We review basic apps for business: writing, spreadsheets,
presentation, graphics, and PDF readers. Practice syncing and
transferring between a computer and the iPad2 using transfer
apps like DropBox and USB Disk. Learn about video conferencing
for business with the iPad2 via FaceTime, WebEx, and Adobe
Connect Mobile. Lastly, we’ll discuss social media uses and the
upcoming iOS 5 and iCloud, including pros and cons for business.
If you own an iPad, please bring it to class. If you don’t, you’ll
have use of one during class time.
