AN AFTERNOON WITH ROBERT PINKSY
United States Poet Laureate (1997–2000), translator, essayist, and teacher Robert Pinsky will
kick off the Frederick Reads community reading celebration. The 2013 theme is "Food for Thought," and Pinsky is enthusiastically preparing a special feast of his favorite poems related to food and beverage, both his own work and that of other poets.
Throughout his career, Pinsky has been dedicated to identifying and invigorating poetry’s place in the world. As a three-term Poet Laureate, he founded the Favorite Poem Project, in which thousands of Americans of varying backgrounds, ages, and locations shared their favorite poems.
