From it’s inception three years ago, the Monocacy Jazz Quartet has had a prominent place in the Western Maryland music scene. Playing jazz, blues and standards from the Great American Song Book, they are regularly featured Thursday nights at Danielle’s Restaurant in downtown Frederick and play at public and private venues throughout the Baltimore/Washington area. The musicians include Ali Afrookteh on saxophone/flute, Mark Lysher on bass, Paul Wilson on drums and Matthew Albright on piano.
