The Gettysburg College Choir, Concert Choir, Women’s Choir and Camerata will perform our annual Winter Concert on Saturday, December 1 at 8:00p.m. in Christ Chapel at Gettysburg College. A highlight of the concert will be Mozart’s popular “Coronation Mass” with combined choirs totaling 140 voices, soloists and orchestra. Each choir will also perform music for the holiday season and other pieces that they've prepared throughout the Fall. The College Choir will sing Gerald Finzi's Magnificat, with local organ
ist David Erickson, and music by Palestrina and Ola Gjeilo. The Concert Choir will sing music of Johannes Brahms, Eleanor Daley, and a setting of the French carol "Il est ne le divin infant" by Robert Wetzler. The Camerata will sing a Magnificat by the baroque composer Heinrich Schutz, a Hanukah song called "Ocho Kandelikas," and a setting of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas." The Women's Choir will sing music of Gwenyth Walker, Libby Larsen and others. The program also includes carols for audience singing. Please join us for this annual concert, a Gettysburg tradition for over 70 years.
Admission is $5.00 at the door (cash or check – no credit cards); admission is free for those with Gettysburg College ID.
