American Cancer Society Cancer Prevention Study - 3 Kickoff in Frederick County Needs Champions

Champions and supporters of the American Cancer Society are coming together to kick off the enrollment drive for CPS-3 in Frederick County. Champions are community residents – including cancer survivors, caregivers or those honoring a loved one who has battled cancer – who have volunteered to help drive CPS-3 awareness. At the kickoff, they will learn about CPS-3 and receive the tools to educate the community and recruit participants.

Enrollment takes place in Frederick County from March 19 -23, 2013 in partnership with Hollow Creek Golf Club, Monocacy Valley Church, Frederick Memorial Hospital, St. Paul's Church, and Sport & Health. For locations, dates and to register for enrollment, see www.CPS3FrederickCounty.org.

Study enrollee requirements:
• Men and women ages 30 to 65 who have never been diagnosed with cancer (except for basal or squamous cell skin carcinoma)
• Provide a waist measurement and give a small blood sample
• Complete a comprehensive survey and follow-up surveys every few years.
