Hood College and Frederick Reads will host Elizabeth Gilbert April 14 at 5 p.m. in the Hodson Auditorium in Rosenstock Hall at Hood College.
Limited seating for the free event is available by ticket only. Tickets can be reserved by calling Hood’s reservation line at (301) 696-3130.
Gilbert’s 2006 blockbuster memoir, “Eat, Pray, Love,” chronicles her discoveries while traveling around the world following her divorce. As of February 2010 the book had remained on the New York Times Best Seller list for 158 weeks, and Time Magazine named Gilbert as one of the world’s 100 most influential people of 2008.
“Eat, Pray, Love” has been translated into more than 30 languages with more than seven million copies sold worldwide. A movie based on the book, starring Julia Roberts, is scheduled to open this summer. The sequel, “Committed: A Skeptic makes Peace with Marriage,” was released earlier this year.
Gilbert’s appearance at this year’s Frederick Reads is made possible in large part by the Hanson Lecture Series by way of the Robert D. and Barbara E. Hanson Fund for The Foundation of Enhancing Communities.
